Things That Do Not Change

Greetings GBC! It is exciting to remind you of the things that do not change and share with you some exciting things to come. As you are already aware, we are now a non-denominational ministry and that gives us a sort of new identity as a church. Changes have been many the last several months and this is not necessarily easy and can be especially difficult when you’re not sure where things are headed or what else is going to change.

May I assure you that as a church we know who we are and where we are going. The most important things have not changed. We are as committed as ever to what matters for eternity—the message of Jesus Christ and the Church’s mission in this world to make disciples of all nations. Evangelism and discipleship are what we are about, our mission is what we live and die for. This has not changed. Our message and our mission are what drive everything we do, and because we represent the Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of all, we strive to do everything we do with excellence!

Here at GBC we advance our message and our mission through a very simple methodology. Here’s how it works. Our leaders equip the church in and through the ministry of the Word and our many members hear the Word, are transformed by it, and express their love for God and neighbor by using their gifts and talents to serve the church body for the common good so the church can grow healthy and strong in love. When our leaders lovingly lead, and our members lovingly serve, the church body grows! It grows into Him who is the head, Jesus Christ. As we grow into Christ-likeness we become a more vibrant witness to the watching world. We have one message, one mission, and one methodology, all based on Scripture—see Col 1:28-29, Mt 28:19-20, Eph 4:11-16. This is why we do what we do the way we do it!
